Three month later...

Foremen laced her fingers under her chin, watching, waiting. Hopeing.

After that dreadful fall, a fall that would kill any person who should go. How cruel fate was, to keep luck on their side.

House seem to have hit the branches and shrubs Cuddy had laid out just the year before to make the hospital more beautiful and more welcoming. It also proved to be a handy landing patch.

When Foremen ran down the stairs, running past 13 and Taub who had just walked into the office. She didn't look over the railing, she tried to ignore the sicking 'thumb' she heard and the loud scream from another mouth.

Busting the door open, she rushed across the lobby where people started to still, some even rushing inside. Her chest heaved, her lungs burned from her panting when she came to a stop and there she saw it.

Gab's arm laying limp over destroyed bush. From this distance, Foremen could not see Gab's body, she laid hidden behind it, behind the gathering crowd. But Foremen could not tare her eyes away from that hand.

The very hand that held a cane so tightly, the very hand that everyone wanted to grab to save another life, to solve another case. A hand Foremen had drunkenly admitted to Chase, that she wish she could hold.

Now that hand laid out stretched, held up by those broken branches to the cool day air, letting Foremen watch with a heavy heart at every drop of blood that danced off her finger tips.

Foremen didn't know what came over her. She just stood there, shocked, dismayed. Nurses were rushing by her to approach Gab, to search, to see if she was lucky enough to live after all that. Foremen turned slowly, her dress vest suddenly felt to tight, she couldn't breath. Looking away, her eyes wide when they fell upon Wilson.

Jessica stood across the lobby, watching the same scene. Foremen snapped, she didn't know what happened. But she turned and began to walk towards her. Reaching up, she removed her earrings, her lips a snarl.

"You." She spat, causing Wilson to jump and look to her with wide eyes.

"This is all YOUR FAULT!"

Like a whip, her arm shot out and struck Wilson across the face, sending the shocked women back, hitting the glass wall of the free clinic. Covering her face quickly, Jess looked up bewildered, her cheek splotching red. "My Fault! I didn't throw her over the railing!"

"But you put her there!" Foremen snapped. She felt a hand touch her and she only tried to pull it off, 13 was grabbing her, trying to control her but she wouldn't have it. She pointed and shouted, her words echoing.

"Its just the same!" She shouted, her body struggling as 13 pulled her away, away from the wide eyes sick struck Wilson.

"Its just the same as if you walked over and pushed her!!"

But now, it was three months later and still, she waited.

House survived the fall. Broken bones and internal bleeding. It took weeks but they were able to fix everything that was broken inside. But due to the fall, Gab had struck her head and did not wake nor respond. A coma.

Foremen sat there, day after day at House's side. She hoped her boss would wake up and open her one good eyes.

It hurt to see her like this. Bandages wrapped around Gabs head, covering the healing wound of her cracked skull. A white patch of gulls covered Gabs left eye, healing the bruised and scratched skin from the branches. Foremen was half glad Gab was sleeping, if she awoke she would awake to a new world of pain.

The fall shattered her collar and busted her left arm, her right leg was mangled and to set it they had to bolt a couple of screws into her thigh. Two right threw her mangled flesh, her scar.

Opening her eyes, she watched her boss sleep, hearing only the machines beep, the pumps of air that left the tubes to keep Gabs lung full.

"We have another case." She whispered, reaching out with a steady hand to take Gabs, feeling the rough healing scabs on her bosses palms from the fall. "Taub is having a hard time trying to figure it out and 13.... well you know him." Looking down a little, she sighed. "Take all the time you need House. Sleep it off, when you wake up, I'll be right here. I'll....."

Pressing her lips, she gave that hand a tight squeeze. "I'll be right here..."

Picking up her coat, Foremen touched a patch of smooth skin that lingered on Gabs cheek. Without another word, she turned and left, leaving Gab to sleep in her private room once again and hoped that tomorrow, she would get a small responds.

Everyone was gone.

The night had crept in and the hallways laid empty, besides the late night shifts of nurses who walked steady.

Outside of Houses private room, Wilson stood, her fingers clinging to her scarf tightly. Every night she would stand outside the door, waiting, listening. For what? She didn't even know.

Cuddy had forbidden her to go near House. He looked at her with hurt in his eyes as hhe whispered, "House is a broken women now... she's lucky to be alive. If she wakes up and see's you and you still walk away, it will break her completely and I will not risk losing her again."

Closing her eyes, she rested her forehead lightly on the door frame of the closed door. The very sight of House being dragged in, seeing her battered and mangled body. She feared the worse and on that feeling, she felt horror and pain.

She did this to her best friend all because she was scared. Chase had warned her, Cameron had warned her and like a fool, she followed their words and turned her back on her own friend.

It took this scene for her to realize.

She wanted to be there when Gab struggled, to hold her hand, to bicker with her. She wanted to hug her, hold her close, protect her from the pain that she had to live with every day and sooth her of the dwells of the hospital. She wanted to the be the one person Gab reached for and held onto, even if the world tried to tear her away, Wilson wanted Gab to hold onto her and refuse to let go, and thats what Gab did that day up on their balcony. Gab had reached out and held onto that thread of hope and plead one last time...

And Wilson went and forced her to open her hand.

Touching the door, she opened it slowly, slipping herself inside.

Her chest squeezed at the sight of her friend laying there lifeless, covered in her blankets and bandages. Gab showed no signs of improving. Her injuries were healing yes, the bleeding had stopped and her bones were resetting very nicely but her mind.... it was like Gab choose to sleep and stay locked in the darkness of her own body then open her eyes again.

Sitting herself down, Gab watched the slow rise and fall of Gabs chest, the gentle beeping of Gabs heart beat singing out from the monitors. She did this to her friend.

Biting her lower lip, she reached out, her fingers shaking, hovering over Gabs limp one. She did this, Foremens word echoing in her ears.

'As if you walked over and pushed her....'

"I'm sorry." She whispered. Touching that hand, she curled her shaking fingers, holding on tightly. "I'm so sorry."

Moving closer, Jessica closed her eyes tightly, the tears building, falling. Bowing her head, she pressed her cheek into Gabs chest, letting her body drap over her. She grabbed her, hugged her. She might of been to late, what if Gab never woke up? What if she stayed lifeless, stayed asleep.

"Please." She squeezed that hand tightly, wanting Gab to feel it, wanting her to wake up and shout at her to get off, to claim she was trying to cut her fingers off. Anything. "I'm sorry. I was scared. I shouldn't have listened to them, i was foolish and stupid."

Burying her face into Gabs chest, she sniffled and trembled. "I love you Gab, please." Her heart broke when she uttered the words Gab had screamed when she walked away, those words that were burned in her heart and mind.

"Dont leave me alone...."

She sobbed lightly on Gabs chest. What else could she do? She simply held on, praying that she would be given enough mercy to keep her friend at her side.

Something heavy touched her head then. Opening her eyes a little, she wiped her cheek a little on the blanket before looking up. That strange pressure was on the back of her head, feeling, touching, before sinking fully into her hair. Turning her head a little, she looked to see what was grabbing her and her eyes widen.

A hand had lifted and was stroking her hair lightly. Turning back to Gabs face, she watched the one eye close tightly before fluttering open. Wilson sat up slowly, reaching out, touching Gabs unmarked cheek with unsteady fingertips. That blue orb moved slowly, unsure around the ceiling before he caught Wilsons own.

They stared at one another, unsure, confused. But that twinkle appeared in that blue eye, making Wilsons lips smile. Gab stared at her, her hand moving down to cup Wilsons cheek. Jess turned her head and kissed her palm, feeling the rough skin but not careing. When she looked back up, Gab had closed her eye again and slipped back into her sleep, but she kept her hand on Jess's face, holding onto her. Perhaps she thought this was a dream.

Reaching up with her free hand, she pressed that palm to her cheek a little more.

"I'm right here House. I wont leave you alone..."

...at last, an happy ending.. (well, Gab had woken up, means she'd be okay, and Jess finally admit she love Gab (like James did to Greg.. :P) ..sounds good to me.. :XD:)

though I don't know why Foreman is the one who blame Jess .. I dunno, I just keep thinking it should be Chase or Cameron or Cuddy... just not Foreman.. he/she don't even like House(s) ....

Seeing she goes accusing Jess.. it makes me angry, really angry, like I was angry when Cameron go yell at James in S3.. or Cuddy go yell at James at.. I forgot.. whatever, you got the idea.. what can I say, I'm always a fan of Wilson(s)
